1952 Nikki Chemical Co., Ltd. established
1954 Started manufacture and sale of sulfur-resistant nickel catalysts
1955 Developed hydrocarbon refining catalyst (received Okochi Memorial Foundation Production prize, Japan Petroleum Institute Award)
  Started manufacture and sale of sponge nickel catalysts
1956 Started manufacture and sale of copper chrome catalysts
  Started manufacture and sale of propane transformation catalysts
1957 Started manufacture and sale of isomerization catalysts
1958 Catalysts & Chemicals Industries Co., Ltd. established
1960 Started manufacture and sale of FCC (Fluid Catalytic Cracking) catalysts
1961 Started manufacture and sale of low-temperature steam reforming catalysts
1965 Started manufacture and sale of silica sol (Cataloid S)
Provided manufacturing technology to (then) USSR for Sohio Acrylonitrile process catalysts and silica sol

Exported catalyst technology for aniline production to the United States
1974 Started manufacture and sale of silica sol (Cataloid SI)
1975 Started manufacture and sale of flue gas denitrification (DeNOx) catalysts
Started manufacture and sale of catalysts for hydrorefining (direct desulfurization catalyst)
1982 Inaugural Production Technology Presentation held (Keidanren Kaikan, 16 presentations held since and ongoing)
1983 Started manufacture and sale of catalysts for hydrorefining (demetallizing catalyst for direct desulfurization)
Received The Japan Petroleum Institute Award for Technical Progress for the achievement of "Development and industrialization of FCC/MRZ-type catalyst"
Published the technical report "Catalysts & Chemicals Giho"
Started manufacture and sale of precious metal catalysts
1984 Launched Fine Chemicals business, and started manufacture and sale of conductive materials
Started manufacture and sale of cosmetic materials
Provided Company 'F' in Austria with manufacturing technology for flue gas denitrification (DeNOx) catalysts (thereafter, to West Germany, United States, etc.)
1986 Fine Chemicals Materials Research Center established at Wakamatsu Plant
1990 Received Catalysts Institute Technical Award for "Development of flue gas denitrification catalyst by dry ammonia process”
Started manufacture and sale of liquid crystal materials
1991 Started manufacture and sale of optical materials
Started manufacture and sale of semiconductor materials
1992 Started manufacture and sale of chrome-free copper catalysts
1996 Acquired ISO9001 (1994) certification
1997 CCIC Head Office relocated from Chiyoda Ward in Tokyo to Kawasaki City in Kanagawa Prefecture
Started manufacture and sale of lithium-ion secondary cell parts
2002

Acquired ISO14001 (2000) certification

2003

Received Selete Achievement Award for “Development of high-intensity low-k film”

2004

CCIC became a wholly-owned subsidiary of JGC Corporation as a result of share transfer

Recognized as a "Certified plant under the renewal construction of the Fire Services Act" by Kitakyushu City (18th in Japan)

2005

Received Global 100 Eco-Tech Award from World Expo, Aichi, Japan

2006

Nikki Chemicals head office relocated from Yokohama City in Kanagawa Prefecture to Kawasaki City

2008

Concluded an agreement with Kitakyushu City on "Agreement on NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical) Disaster Prevention Measures" (first in Japan)

CCIC and Nikki Chemical merged to establish JGC C&C

2009

Received Catalysis Society of Japan Award for “Development and industrialization of zeolite catalysts for adamantine catalysts”

2015

Received The Japan Petroleum Institute Award for Technical Progress for the achievement of “Practical application and improvements in productivity for firing-type high-activity light oil desulfurization catalysts”

2016

Received Japan Petroleum Institute International Exchange award for “Development and practical application of vacuum gas oil hydrocracking catalysts for deasphalted oil mixing processes”

2017

Received Catalysis Society of Japan Award ( Industrial field) for “Development and practical application of firing-type high-activity desulfurization catalysts with controlled interaction with carrier”

2018
